NHCC Golf

New Haven Country Club (Willie Parks, Jr., 1898). Another of the most beautiful clubhouses in all of golf, it can be hard to look past the building to the golf course, but it’s certainly worth the effort. A lovely layout that is impeccably maintained, the real threat to a good score at New Haven comes from the fast and rolling greens. Not too surprising, as Willie Park, Jr, two time British Open Champion, considered putting to be the most important aspect of the game. In addition to his exceptional skills as a golfer, the Scotsman designed over 150 courses, was a successful ball and club maker (inventing several new versions of each), and was the first professional to write a complete book on golf.
